Hey, my name is Thomas Hepner.

I am a data scientist, investor, technologist, and believer in miracles. I love to share my thinking about technology and investing and learn from others.

Since I was very young, I have been driven by an insatiable curiosity; I could never stop asking, “Why?” My thirst for new knowledge is insatiable and I’ve been told that I “think in charts”.

I’ve been writing since I was 12 years old and my life goal was to write a popular book about dragons like Eragon, make $10 million from the royalties, and enjoy my freedom by living out of a car the rest of my life. I wrote the book about dragons, but no longer want to live our of a car the rest of my life.

Since learning about Andrew Carnegie and John Rockefeller in my 8th grade history class, I’ve wanted to build successful companies that add to human wealth and knowledge. I am building a second company after failing at my first attempt.

Fishing has been a love of mine since I was a young child. If you want to see some of the fish I’ve caught over the years, check out my wall of fish.
